ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Lori Hartwell has lived with renal
disease for over 40 years. At age twelve she was diagnosed with complete kidney
failure. As a patient she researched the pioneering stages of dialysis and
transplantation. Ms. Hartwell underwent dialysis for twelve years, experiencing
all treatment modalities. Her third kidney transplant took place in 1990. This
transplant has enabled Ms. Hartwell to focus her energy on assisting other
chronically ill patients.
